Cracking stuff, how much horsepower were the Dav's giving away to the Chevron's?

I'm not sure of the bhp but they are both about 2000cc so I'd like to think we were a bit down on them.
I have to say even as an owner of multiple Davs I think we give away a bit on looks to the Chevrons especially the B8's! Take a look at Miles' web page www.castaldini.co.uk and there is a picture of the top three finishers.

2 litre B26 is normally around 285bhp I think.

What motors are in the two Davs?

We are 100 bhp or so down on that….
MIne runs a 1700cc steel X-flow on the the back of a 5 speed hewland ,Myles' car is similar but has an Ali blocked X-flow. We have similar power in the 170-180 bhp region.

Pretty good! I didn't think they could be Imp powered, though the Kawa headed Imp motor over here is allegedly producing near that power from a 998!

To quote...."175bhp at 13,500 rpm...".

175bhp, impressive, has it been tested in a car or just test bed runs?

I'm not sure.

I originally thought the claim of 175bhp was nonsense, then I talked to the guy who came second in the National sidecar championship, using an Imp engined rig, and he told me he knows the engine builder, and reckons he's a genius as an engineer and it's probably correct.

He said the guy was very ill though, and I've not been in touch with him since the Limoges Moto Expo last year.

I and I assume Iain will both be racing at the same event next year all being well. I may even be racing a special saloon in the Sunday all comers race also.
