Tarmac Rallying in Tasmania

Post by grantw »

new here, plus i dont actually own a Davrian, although i do spend a lot of time with one so feel like i own one! a mate runs one here in Tassie in Targa Tasmania. Thought you all would like to see what a Davrian looks like being rallied on the other side of the world. here are a few of the best shots...

The photos are from the official photographers from the event, Perfect Prints (being bit of a freelance photographer i like to give credit to other photographers work)

we did run a gopro hero camera too, so when i get some of the footage posted up on youtube i will stick a link here too. i might even put up some older pics of the car before it was painted white (was yellow)

oh yeah here is a link to an article written after day one of this years Targa, check out the top 10 for the Classic Outright...

Hi Grantw,

I have just fixed up the post, you have to get the link to the .jpg file (typically by right clicking on the image file and selecting 'Copy link location' (or similar). If you then put this link inbetween tags as follows:

(img]http://lh5.ggpht.com/_bbKxYpT2BQM/S-E-A ... 202847.jpg[/img)

Replacing the brackets with square brackets. There is also a button for this when writing a post...

Hope that helps,

Davrian

Wow - scary moment i bet :o .

You were very lucky to avoid the trees and the sheer drop on the right.

Looked great fun up until that point what caused the back end to snake out?

from what i gather from both the driver and navigator it was nearly brown trousers time! the had a similar moment a few years back in another event in Adelaide but ended up upside down... the car ends up further down the bank in this one too, the more they try to drive it out the more it slips over. eventually got dragged out by another competitor which was good.

not sure what the cause was, as you can see he gets the initial moment but when the car kicks back the other way. we have worked out there isnt enough travel in the rear and probably will be changing the spring rates too. i just like saying its all the driver getting too old :D
