My Mk 8 Davrian

Post by Jonathan Barnes »

Hello All.
This is my first post to the list, so I thought I should "check in".
My Davrian Is a Mk 8, registration BPG221Y, number DF/8/034/TVF.
I built the car in 82-83, registering it 12/5/83.
Originally it had a Ford Kent 1600 ( XR2 ) 1600, with 4 speed Escort / Fiesta gearbox.
It was my daily driver, and I raced it in the 750 MC kit car series in 83 and 85.
I re built it fitting a 1600 XR2 block engine toped with a Lotus twin cam cylinder head and a 5 speed gearbox.
I have been using it on and off ever since.. drive it for a few months, think I can improve xxxx.. it will only take a couple of weeks...
two years later it's back on the road.
Currently it's waiting for me to have spare cash for tax and mot test, hopping to tax it for the summer.

Regards all Jonathan

Hi Jonathan. The Mk 6 runs a 1040cc imp usual mods .gas flowed, balanced.r20 cam
And a Honda 600cbr rr fuel injection system. This set up increased the power by
2/3 brake horse power (93 at the wheels) approx 115 ish at the flywheel.but the torque
runs right through the rev range.very smooth. Fuel consumption is 45 mph cruising at
60ish.

Jonanthan
I remember seeing your car in the 80s in the kitcar magazines
Do you have any more photos of the car? It would be very interesting to see them
