I sold my Lotus Excel to thought I'd get this to sit next to my G15. The plan is to build it up for local sprinting with imp power and then my G15 can then be made up into a merry fast road thingummy.

Cheers!

Hi Sam, another car on the forum!.

I assume this is the car that was on Ebay recently?, the seller seemed vague about the chassis no saying he couldn't read it.
So what have you got regards condition and history etc?.
Tell all!

Cheers,

Dave.

Hi Dave,
Not much to tell really, it's grubby but not too grim and I'm trying to track down it's history at the moment, it spent a lot of time in Ireland but can't find out much, has a very goosed 998 engine, and looks to have had a VW engine in it at some point.

Off to see Tim Duffee tomorrow with parts of it to see what's what!

Hi Sam i can shed some light on the car it was raced by Ian Averill with an imp engine back in the late 80s ,he then sold the car to domnic peel who fitted an alfa boxer engine as far as i remember ,then alan kessie got hold of it and was going to refit it with an imp engine if you go on this link http://askracing.com/index.php/home.html you can contact alan ,very nice bloke who will know alot more than me on the history ,or you could try contacting leo nulty on here if you look down on the car logger he is down the bottom he has a davrian imp saloon

Hi there
Just for completeness, I owned and raced the car in the mid 80's It was powder blue at the time and most of the 'trick' bits were of my handy work. Ie 4 disc brakes all round, adjustable pedal box, strengthened front suspension mountings and fully adjustable suspension arms etc
