Hi Dave,

Thanks for your suggestion of running sequential injection. ATM it's running batch injection and 2 squirts/rev to reduce pulsing in the fuel rail.

The engine idles reliably at 800 revs, probably due to:

A. the good mixture control of F.I.

B. No “Cross Fuelling” of neighbouring cylinders with the 450 mm long inlet runners.

However, injecting the fuel at the correct time must be an improvement at small throttle openings.

Using a sensor driven from the distributor drive is a really good idea, Dave Cooper is running an “Idle Bearing” in place of the distributor to support the Bronze oil pump drive and the bearing spindle could be extended to fit a “cam” /toothed wheel sensor at the top, to tell the ECU when the engine is firing on No1 cyl.
