Re: MEY 882J

I thought it was about time I posted an update on here about my Davrian. Just to recap having bought the car and sorted the running gear with Tim Duffee supplied shocks and springs, a poly bush kit, renewing the brake seals and linings, the radiator and hoses, track rod ends etc and then had some fu...

Re: spring rating/size

Just read this after responding to your question about shocks, if it was me I would give Tim Duffee a call, like I said in the other post I don't know what mine are, but I told Tim that I wanted a fast road/trackday set up and what he supplied works really well.

Re: any preference for schock absorbers

I can't really give an opinion on one make versus the other however I am very pleased with the AVO coil overs and springs that Tim Duffee supplied for my Davrian, I've had no issues to date and it handles really well on track with them wound up and is fairly compliant on road with them wound back. I...

Re: advice on brake set up?

I have run both on my Mk5 on the track(days) and road, my drums I ran with VG95 linings and my current front disc set up is the Fiesta disc and calipers supplied by Colin Valentine from the Imp Club, for both road and track performance is very similar, on the track I can get both set up to start to ...

Re: Heaters

Hi Dave, I was thinking along similar lines, out of interest where did you get yours from? Also is your Mk6 screen the same as my Mk5? I'll be taking mine out soon to paint the centre section so if the cost is reasonable I may as well fit a new heated screen.

Re: MEY 882J

That's good to know Hal, if the K100 is a good one and supplying its 90bhp I'll be 40bhp up on the estimated 50 that I'm getting out of my tired tweeked sport engine, plus it came with a K&N filter element and I'm currently making a better flowing exhaust, both should provide minimal gains and i...

Re: MEY 882J

Hi Hal, I was comparing the 40 amp alternator on the K100 engine and the hole required to what might be needed for the 60 amp alternator fitted to the K1100, its one of those things where it might not be much bigger but when it going through an angled panel the hole required could be quite a bit big...

Re: MEY 882J

Do you reckon you can squirrel the OE airbox and filter box in between the A frame members? From the pix it looks possible... It will be interesting to see how much depth of extra clearance you need for the alternator, I'm wondering if the extra 45mm depth on the Mk 7 might just be enough? The othe...
