Re: Mk 8

Hi John, Good to hear that you've got your Mk8 at last! Although some Davrians are well finished inside, most are very Spartan..like mine, but I'm sure you know that.Where are you in the country, it would be interesting to find out if you are near any other Davrian owners and it could also help you ...

Re: mk8 for sale

Sorry to see that you're putting your Mk8 up for sale. I know that you very much missed your previous Davrian and had hoped that the Mk8 would be more accommodating of your back problems.Hope that you and your son can find another vehicle that will give as much pleasure as your old Davrian and Imp. ...

Re: Setting-up the suspension

Interesting to hear various thoughts on suspension set up.My thoughts are that for many of us for road use and occassional trackdays then some basic checking and adjustment with the right springs, dampers and tryres is all that is required. If serious competition is intended then checking from the thr...

Re: Heaters

I have an adapted morris minor heater in my Mk8, too big, heavy and powerful. The very small cabin of a Davrian doesn't need loads of KW, just found these http://www.t7design.co.uk/index.php?mai ... cts_id=362 which look promising?

Re: steering knuckle

Hal,

Have a look at the Mk8 original brochure which refers to the joint and the possibility of using a Triumph column http://john.rawlins.com/ndr3/downloads/Mk8_brochure.pdf. Gives you a few alternatives rather than an E Type column, and even the chance of an adjustable column!

Re: Mk 7 rebuild begins

Hi Hal, Suggest you look at this original Davrian brochure http://john.rawlins.com/ndr3/downloads/Disc_Brake.pdf , gives details of the Davrian hand brake arrangement and also shows your alloy calipers for competition use. I have the 'drum ' handbrake set up on my car and although not as good as som...

Re: Pearlescent paint

Hi Nugget, Well I also own a Davrian and a Lotus 7 ! I've owned the 7 since 1974 and originally used it daily as my only car often clocking up 70 - 100 miles a day commuting to building sites. She was off the road for about 10 years but has now been continuously on the road since 1988, although now ...

Brighton Speed Trials

I see that the Brighton Speed Trials are back on again on Saturday 6th September AND both John Rawlins and Ken Banks are on the provisional entry list with their Mks 8 and 7. I would love to go to this event but unfortunately won't be able to make it, but thought that a few Davrianites might attend,...

Re: Davrian tub size?

Why use a trailer when a roof-rack or ladder-rack will do?! There is clear photographic evidence to prove that a Davrian can be transported on top of a saloon car. In one of the Davrian Developments news sheets from the early 1980s, there is a photo of a MK8 monocoque being transported back to Irela...

Re: Disc Brakes???

Nugget, You might be interested in the "brake brochure"which gives details of the original Davrian disc brake setup. Try looking on the New Davrian Register site under the download section.Have found this setup to be effective and adjustable to help with any locking up problems. The caliper...
