I would think they would be OK as long as the bore is correct.
Problem may be getting a rebuild kit in the future if the seals are not the same as the Girling
Are your old ones beyong repair? Could you not rebuild them?

I use Motordrive seats in my MK8. Although mine are out of date they are dimensionally the same as the current ones (PRO2). I have fitted them wit with home made side mount brackets .
I think even new Motordrives are cheaper than £300.

Just went out for a run today with the boost turned up to full bananas on the new rebuilt engine. Bigger valves, shorter duration cam, modified inlet manifold, better head gasket and bolts and competition clutch. Wow its quick! I had an MOT today. No problems but a hint of detonation on the engine on the way back so a bit more engine mapping to do.
The tyres are A048R so not much grip at the moment. I need it to warm up!

I also had a mk5 a few years ago, although it didn't handle or go (only a std IMP sport engine) as well as the mk8

I have just finished rebuilding the engine with a different cam and other internals and now just mapping it.

I have a set of Protec's made to order to my spec and they have been fine.
For the road I have had to set them quite low otherwise they are too stiff but this would be true for Spax, AVO etc.
