Re: Mk8 A series
Finally got round to making my headlamp covers. Quite involved but turned out OK in the end http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o249/matnrach/turbo/17jul006s.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o249/matnrach/turbo/17jul009s.jpg Also did a bit more mapping today on the throttle response. Before the...

Re: Stop tanks syphoning
I run EFI and use one pump for each tank. The pump outlets connect to a collector pot that feeds the single HP pump. The return flow from the collector pot feeds back via a tee to each tank. However in the return line to each tank there is a tap. I only use one tank at a time so the tap for the tank...

Re: Mk8 A series
If you look at the picture of the interior on the previous page you can see the roll bar going around the windscreen .
I presume this goes into the sill but I don't know
I can take some other pics if you like

Re: Mk8 A series
Its 1293cc.
The ECU is a Megasquirt which I built myself from a kit.
I'm very happy with it.
Like all management systems at this level, its only as good as the person who maps it

Re: Mk8 A series
Its got about 165hp at the moment
It has got an ECU ( no carbs or distrubutor there!).
Since its all bespoke I had to map it all myself and it needed a little fine tuning

Re: Mk8 A series
Bit of an update. I found out what caused the gasket failure in the first place. It was detonation. So with a new gasket fitted with a bit more head bolt torque, the spark was retarded by 5 degrees above 0.7bar boost and looks as though its sorted. Boost now raised to just over 1bar. New problem. Ju...
